The standard installation of R on Mac OS X names libR.dylib with the full path name (through Versions/[version]/ etc.) to the library, and uses the full path in the R executable. It would be better if the library were named libR.dylib and referred to that way in the R executable.
Using the full path creates a problem if the user wants to have multiple builds of R installed or run simultaneously -- no matter how the environment variables are set, or what path is used to launch R, it will try to use the "Current" installation of R.
I've tried changing the id and link using the install_name_tool, and haven't found any errors or issues, through either the CLI or Rstudio.
