Attaching or removing external monitors causes the following error:
R <Error>: kCGErrorIllegalArgument: CGSShapeWindow
Steps to Reproduce:
1) Open R.app or R64.app
2) attach or remove an external display
OR with R running, sleep the computer by closing the lid, attach external display, wake computer with the keyboard so the only display is the external
OR with R running on the external monitor as the only display, sleep the computer, disconnect the monitor, open the lid
3) R <Error>: kCGErrorIllegalArgument: CGSShapeWindow
Nothing really, R.app spits out the error message in red type, but it doesn't seem to affect the operation of R in any way.
No error message when changes screen configurations.
This has been happening to me for at least the last year, so it is not new to the newest versions of R.app or R64.app
Thanks - I have seen the error before, however I could not trigger it consciously. I think you should be able to reproduce it in Quartz even without the GUI (e.g. run R in Terminal type quartz() and then do the magic to re-configure displays). I suspect from your description that my machine was triggering it randomly when waking from sleep - I'm never detaching displays but possibly it may take some time to re-attach the secondary displays. I'll see if I can track it down.
Apparently this problem is not unique to R, I just checked the console after playing around with my external display and Google Chrome, Twitter, Papers and Matlab all have the same error.
